Robert MacLean was born in Toronto, taught film at Canadian universities, lives in Greece and is an Irish citizen. He has published poems, stories and novels and has written and directed plays that have been performed in New York and Los Angeles. To date he has made two films, both with awards. His seven-minute comedy The Moment of Accepting Life will make you laugh out loud: , and his feature-length romantic comedyEmma Blue was invited to a dozen international festivals, including Shanghai and Strasbourg, and won the Silver Lei at Honolulu International; Best International Feature at the Heart of England International; Best Foreign Comedy at the Atlanta Underground; and received a standing ovation at the Cannes Independent. Bob taught film at McGill, the University of Western Ontario, the University of Ottawa and the American College of Greece. His articles have appeared in film magazines in the United States and the UK, and his book of critical essays is on Amazon (though even to him it seems pricey).
